Amitabh Bachchan on Me Too movement: No woman should ever be subjected to any kind of misbehavior

Amitabh Bachchan had initially chosen to not comment on the Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar controversy when it became national sensation. The actress had then expressed disappointment over the fact that the veteran actor didn’t take a stance on the matter. Now, on his birthday, it looks like Big B is finally ready to talk about the Me Too movement.

Speaking about women safety in workplaces and increasing reports of sexual harassment, he said that, “No woman should ever be subjected to any kind of misbehaviour, or disorderly conduct ; especially at her work place. Such acts should immediately be brought to the notice of concerned authorities, and corrective measures be taken, either through filing complaints or a recourse to law.”

He also added some measures that can be taken to ensure the prevention of such incidents, “Discipline and civic, social and moral curriculums, should be adopted at a very early educational level. Women children and the weaker sections of our society are the most vulnerable. They need to be under special protective care.”

He concluded his statement by praising the fairer sex as he said, “It has been most heartening to see women representations in most work vocations, on the increase in our country. It would be an unrepairable blemish if we are not able to provide them the welcome they deserve and the dignity of the security of their presence.”
