While talking about a scene in his iconic film, ‘Munna Bhai MBBS‘ (2003), the National Award winning filmmaker spoke of his experience of having worked with the actor, who had done a fleeting role in the film. In the film, Nawazuddin played a pickpocketer who targets Munnabhai’s father (played by the late actor Sunil Dutt), who in turn saves him from public rage. The filmmaker later went on talk about the scene, which he says was an incident that took place with his father.
Nawazuddin is currently in the news for playing the role of the late iconic Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto in the upcoming film release ‘Manto’, which is directed by the actress-filmmaker, Nandita Das. He’ll also be seen in another biopic, ‘Thackeray’, where he plays the late Shiv Sena Supremo, Bala Saheb Thackeray.
