Alia Bhatt’s social initiative used to help light up homes of 40 families in Karnataka | Hindi Movie News

Alia Bhatt is one of the most talented actresses of the young generation. The actress has always impressed the audience with her performance in the movies. Well, apart from this the actress also indulges in many social activities. Earlier this year, Alia Bhatt had launched an initiative ‘Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe’ at the Stylecracker Night Market. Through this, her fans could buy handpicked favourites from her personal closet, for charity.

On Sunday, the profits from the first charity were used to used to light up homes of 40 families in, Kikkeri in the Mandya district of Karnataka. This was achieved through the Liter Of Light program which is run by a Bengaluru based organization, AROHA.

Speaking about the project, Alia Bhatt said, “So many families in India continue to live in darkness and Liter of Light’s eco-friendly solar lamps are an innovative and sustainable way to light up homes. They work with local communities, using locally sourced materials to assemble and install the lamps, thus empowering the community and improving the quality of life. The project in Kikkeri will benefit 200 lives and through Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe we plan to work with many such organisations, creating a brighter future for many more.”

She further added, “The support from Standard Electricals helped change so many lives for the better and we hope this inspires other companies to reach out to deserving not-for-profits that need financial aid to continue making a sustainable impact.”

On the work front, Alia Bhatt recently wrapped with the shooting of ‘Kalank’. She is currently prepping for the second schedule of ‘Brahmastra‘ along with Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. She will also be seen in ‘Gully Boy’ along with Ranveer Singh.
