Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018: Tamannaah Bhatia to be honoured for her role in 'Baahubali: The Beginning'

We already know that Anushka Sharma will be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for her contribution as ‘path breaking producer’ and Ranveer Singh will be awarded for his menacing act in the role of Alaudin Khilji in ‘Padmaavat’ at the prestigious awards ceremony. The latest is that that Tamannaah Bhatia will also be awarded for her role in ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’.

According to IANS report, Tamannaah said in a statement, “I’ve grown up knowing what immense involvement Dadasaheb Phalke had enjoyed in Indian cinema. It’s such an honour to be conferred an award from the foundation.” 

Mumbai-based Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation will present the award at a ceremony on 21 April 21 in Mumbai. The award is given to various individuals from the entertainment industry for their outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema.

The actress played the role of warrior Avantika and was paired opposite Prabhas in Baahubali: The Beginning. Although she had little to do in the final film in the franchise, Tammanaah is on award winning spree and recently bagged the iconic Sridevi Award at Zee Apsara Awards as well.

On work front, Tamannaah Bhatia is currently working on the Telugu remake of Kangana Ranaut’s hit film ‘Queen’ which is titled ‘Naa Nuvve’
