Be it Kristen Stewart’s silent protest against the no-flats rule or the recurrence of the much-loved combo of a classic blue jeans and white shirt/top – Cannes 2018 has been all about comfort dressing. Except Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Huma Qureshi, all our leading ladies, be it Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor or Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, were seen sporting the denims, which was a first for Cannes. Here’s a detailed look at all of them –
Such is her love for denims that Deepika Padukone stepped out in it twice. On her first day at the coastal city of French Riviera, the 32-year-old actress was seen in a pair of pencil denims and a stylish knotted crop top. She had styled it with a pair of pointed-toe heels, hoop earrings and tinted, retro glasses.
For her second appearance, the Padmaavat actress opted for a Anthony Thomas Melillo white tank top and a pair of bell-bottoms by Flare. Her stylist Shaleena Nathani gave her a black leather jacket over the shoulders, which made it look edgier. The outfit not just accentuated DP’s enviable figure but gave us all a much-needed break from all those done-to-death gowns and dresses.
This was the first time when a Pakistani actress was representing L’Oreal on the Cannes red carpet and did Mahira Khan make the most out of it? Hell yes! Her wardrobe at Cannes has been a perfect blend of chic and classy. On day 2 of her stay there, the Humsafar actress was seen sporting the classic combo of blue denims and white top. Like Deepika, she too opted for flared-bottomed denims, which she paired with a sleeveless, high-neck top. She looked classy, cute and goofy all at the same time.
When fashionista Sonam Kapoor followed suit, it made us speculate whether it was a part of some brief given by L’Oreal for she is not the one to follow trends (coz she believes in making them)! Sonam wore an oversized white shirt with blue denims which were by the way from her husband’s label – Bhane. Dark lips, messy bun and hoops completed her look.
So, who according to you rocked the combo – Mahira, Deepika or Sonam? Make your votes count.
