Even though Neeru Randhawa is said to be reportedly withdrawing the FIR against beau Armaan Kohli for assaulting her on June 3, the matter hasn’t ended for the actor yet. Armaan was produced in Bandra court where his lawyer informed the magistrate that they had filed his bail petition in Bombay High Court for ‘quashing the complaint by mutual consent’ as Neeru was taking back the FIR.
Reiterating the bail plea for his client, his lawyer reportedly added that since the matter between Armaan and Neeru had been settled, ‘no purpose would be served with his police custody’. The lawyer also apparently alleged that only one of the sections applied to the actor was non-bailable which pertains to possessing a weapon. He contended that Armaan didn’t possess a weapon and the section was only added to see to it that he doesn’t get bail.
While the magistrate didn’t grant Armaan’s custody to the police, his bail was also rejected and he had to spend a day in Arthur Road Jail. However, when contacted, Neeru maintained that talks were on and the terms will be formally decided during the hearing on Friday. While she declined to reveal anything more, a reliable source tells us that she will withdraw the case on three conditions — he issues a formal unconditional apology for the assault, he won’t insist on being a part of her life and let her move on and lead her life as per her terms and thirdly because of her respect for his father, filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, who is a heart patient.
Armaan and Neeru are said to be in a relationship for the past three years. On June 3, he assaulted her after which she lodged a complaint with the Santacruz Police Station. She was also admitted at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital where she underwent surgery for the injury she suffered. The police had booked Armaan under sections 323, 326, 504 and 506 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and was on the lookout for him. The actor was arrested from Lonavla on Tuesday.
