Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu starrer October is off to a slow but decent start. The Shoojit Sircar film has garnerd immense praise from the critics, however, the audience seems to be a bit divided in their opinion. The first day collection figures of October at the box office are out. The film has managed to take in a total of Rs 5.04 crore on day one.
The numbers are expected to increase over the weekend. Most of the critcs have expessed that October is the kind of film which will take its own sweet time to grow on you. A positive word of mouth from the viewers may work wonders for the film in the coming days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the details of the first day box office collections of October. He tweeted, “#October has a slow start… Biz will have to witness miraculous growth over the weekend + maintain a strong trend on weekdays to leave a mark… Word of mouth is extremely mixed… Fri â¹ 5.04 cr. India biz.”
October is expected to close its opening weekend on a figure close to Rs 20 crore. The movie is said to be beautifully shot and executed.
Most of the cinegoers found themselves completely immersed in the world of October. The film had got the audience curious and excited ever since the trailer of the film was unveiled. At the trailer launch of the film, director Shoojit Sircar had shared that OCtober is not a love story, but it’s about the feeling of love. The performances by both Varun Dhawan as Danish aka Dan and debutant Banita Sandhu as Shiuli have been much appreciated as well.
