The ongoing Mumbai schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati was disrupted for at least for four hours yesterday after Ranveer Singh injured his head. The actor, who is playing the ruthless 13th century emperor Alauddin Khilji in the period drama, was shooting for an action sequence as part of the climax.
A unit hand informed MidDay, “Ranveer was so engrossed that he did not realise he had injured his head until the director shouted ‘cut’. He started bleeding profusely and after being administered first aid on set, he was rushed to the nearest hospital.”
The shoot is underway in Dahisar, the northernmost suburb of Mumbai. After receiving a couple of stitches on the head, he returned to the set to complete his portions for the day. The actor has been advised rest for a few days.
Soon after he completed the remaining portions of his shoot, the actor was spotted at the airport, taking off for a short vacay. Dressed in all black from top-to-toe, the actor chose a rather unusual pair of shades to go with his look.
Apparently, Ranveer has taken off to the UK for a short vacation and will be back to work soon.

Padmavati also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the leads. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus has been facing a lot of roadblocks since the day it began rolling.
